17 years between visits, this place still delivers. Expect to line up and wait ~30 minutes but you won’t be disappointed. Their seafood quality is right up there with Tokyo. Swan is a must visit when in San Francisco for anyone who enjoys quality seafood.

Seriously? What are you peeps waiting for? Haven't you had fish b4? No way is a line of 30 worth waiting for. Time = $$ and life is short. Food is fine but c'mon now. Once at 4pm on a Tues I saw no line and I walked right on by...

We waited about 1 hour in line to get in. Long story short, it was worth the wait. Customer service was phenomenal from all of the guys working behind the counter. Super welcoming and friendly environment, and they were knowledgeable about the menu items. The food was absolutely delicious. We had oysters, smoked salmon, and the sashimi. Everything was carefully crafted, and filled bursting with flavour. You can watch the gentlemen prepare your dish behind the counter, and everything was prepared carefully to order, with great attention to detail. The beer was solid too. They even offered us drinks while waiting in line, once we crossed the threshold to the restaurant. I can't wait to return.

My favorite restaurant of all time in the world. I live in Seattle and we have some great seafood, but I truly miss this place. I crave lunch there more than sex. If they have fresh sardines there, get 'em, raw. Don't knock it until you try. And you must get a shrimp or crab salad. You must. The crew is a bunch of great long time employees who's hustle puts on a show and interact real well with the customers. Follow their recommendations.

Oh, you have to go here at least once! But, you will probably go back again and again regardless of the wait, which was 90 minutes this time. (Get there early) The fish is soooo fresh, I put down a dozen oysters right off the bat. YUM!! Then the chowder, crab/shrimp salad, lobster and great bread! Pair with a beer or glass of wine, just hits the spot. I'm not sure how many stools there are, maybe 20? Considerate patrons spend the time to enjoy their meal then move on so others can enjoy.
